What do you like about working at Schaffer: Schaffer is a smaller, more personal, local office with the knowledge and experience to rival any large company.
What do you enjoy about being a REALTOR®: I have always loved homes. Mine is my sanctuary and where the people most important to me gather. I love helping others find their “happy” place.
What do you love about Lodi: I love the small town, the family atmosphere, and the fact that this truly is a community in actions not just in words. And the wine… I love the wine! 🙂
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received: If it’s meant to be it will. If it’s not, it won’t.

Number of Years in Real Estate: 38 years
Number of Years with Schaffer: From the beginning- started in the business with my father, Ben Schaffer, back in 1979. Left for a brief period of time, but came back full-time in 1985. Then started Schaffer & Co with Margo in 2003.
What do you enjoy about being a REALTOR®: Helping clients find a home that fits their needs is very rewarding and satisfying to me. It is an honor to have repeat business- I have clients who purchased their first homes with me and years later are referring their children to me as well.
What do you like about working at Schaffer: All of the agents in our company are fun to be around and we have a great time together! Now that my sister and, recently my daughter, have joined the team, I am excited to see the Schaffer Legacy carry on.
What do you love about Lodi: I love that Lodi is family oriented with the Mokelumne River & other activities. We are also centrally located with Lake Tahoe & San Francisco no more than a few hours away. What started as a small farming community has grown into a great wine region!
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received: My dad always said, “Serve the client to the best of your ability and everything else will fall into place.”
Favorite quote: “You have to remember lies, but you don’t have to remember the truth.”

What do you like about working at Schaffer: I like working for Schaffer & Company because it is independently owned and very family oriented making me able to give my clients the best service possible through unique and creative advertising and training that helps me to be a better agent.
What do you enjoy about being a REALTOR®: The reason I like being a REALTOR® is I love helping people find and purchase probably one of the largest investments they will ever make and seeing how they make it their own.
What do you love about Lodi: I love Lodi’s clean, small town family atmosphere with a lake, community center, revitalized downtown, WOW Museum, wine tasting and recreation activities- something for all ages.
Favorite memory working at Schaffer: My favorite memory was when we all dressed up in different costumes and had a lot of laughs over how people looked.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received: Probably the best piece of advice I have received was from my dad [Ben Schaffer] to believe in God, treat others the way you would want to be treated and be honest, fair and ethical.
Favorite quote: My favorite quotes or bible verse is the fruit of the spirit which sums up nine attributes of a Christian or any good person. It is: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

What do you like about working at Schaffer: Great bosses, fellow REALTORS® in the office are fun- We have a good time.
What do you enjoy about being a REALTOR®: Finding people a house they love- I can see it in their eyes their first time in the house.
What do you love about Lodi: Lived here all my life; Know every other person.
Favorite memory working at Schaffer: In 1996 I talked to Nancy’s dad, Ben Schaffer, about being a REALTOR®, back when the company was called ‘Schaffer, Suess, & Boyd’. He said sounds good- obtain your license and I’ll hire you! He always used to say, “There’s no occupation with less investment- for Real Estate, you just need a desk and a phone!”

What do you like about working at Schaffer: We have two very experienced owners/partners as well as a great mix of fun loving agents! Everyone here is more than happy to help one another.
What do you enjoy about being a REALTOR®: Whether they are old clients or new, I like the excitement that comes with searching for just the right property with my clients and finding it!
What do you love about Lodi: Its central location. Aside from being the beautiful town it is with numerous restaurants and wineries, Lodi is centrally located to the Bay Area, Sacramento and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. There is always something fun going on!
Favorite memory working at Schaffer: Favorite memory would have to be when I started here and how kind and helpful everyone was and still is! I can’t think of ever working any other place.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received: Best piece of advice I ever received would have to be the word NEXT! Spoken by someone with many more years in the business. Because in this business try as hard as you can, not all transactions turn out the way you would like. Thank goodness those are few and far between!
